Interactive Retail with BlocksGlobal's Screener
BlocksGlobal, a privately owned and operated software company based in Melbourne, Australia, recently officially launched Screener in Australia and the US.

Screener allows the user to actively market and engage with customers as it provides software as a service to deliver managed web content, whether in an on and off-line state, to a cost-effective and networked group of Android devices. Featuring a touch display technology, Screener is used in conjunction with Blocks CMS, or stand-alone with other content delivery systems. With a web connection, Screener allows the user to update content anywhere.
"We're really pushing down the walls of a retail store with this technology which tries to reduce a customer's purchase decisions," says BlocksGlobal co-founder and chief executive officer Paul Wilson, explaining that customers can also send wishlists via email or social media from in-store through screen media. According to wilson, compared to Apple, Android was more customisable, deliverable on multiple platforms and did not require Microsoft licensing fees. "Using Google analytics data, based off a sensor, we'll be able to advise retailers how many people have walked past a signage brick and how long they've spent at one if
they've stopped," he adds.
Screener is being used in the GWA Group's bathrooms and kitchens divisions to various Bunnings Warehouses across Australia, which customers use to browse and select toilets. Bedroom furniture retailers Bedshed also has Screener units installed in its stores, which allows customers to check reviews, and is available in various languages for user convenience.
With Screener, there is no need to hire a pool of IT professionals to perform all the technical work. BlocksGlobal gives you the power to publish, edit, organise, maintain, and modify the content from a centralised location.
BlocksGlobal, also known for operating a content management platform, has received interest out of South America, Europe and China. The company's initial focus is on tackling the Australian and US markets. According to the company's research, the global digital signage market had an estimated value of $US5 billion in 2011 and by 2016, it is expected to rise by a compound annual growth rate of 27.3 per cent to $US16 billion.
BlocksGlobal specialises in the development and management of marketing resources, such as websites, mobile web pages, [url="http://www.blocksglobal.com/screener"]Screen Media, and email marketing campaigns for interactive content.
