Houman Rezazadeh-Azar Announces Ongoing Commitment to Health
In between pursuing education for a career in dentistry and volunteering with a number of youth organizations, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar remains committed to staying in tip top shape and teaching youth about health.

"We are nothing without the bodies that we inhabit," remarked Houman Rezazadeh-Azar. "I find it extremely important to pursue my own health, and doubly important to teach youth about the benefits of getting and staying in shape."
Houman Rezazadeh-Azar has been involved in sports and athletics since he was a young teenager. He started practicing Shotokan Karate when he was 14, and continues to train in the discipline to this day. Not limiting himself to just one sport, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar also practices Muay Thai kickboxing, plays volleyball on an intramural team, and dances. Most recently, he took up bodybuilding, and competes with the sponsorship of X Fuel Sports Nation.
"What started out as a hobby or a sport has really become a lifestyle commitment for me," said Houman Rezazadeh-Azar. "While studying Karate, I learned self-discipline, and respect for my own body. That drove me to seek out other ways to constantly improve my health."
When Houman Rezazadeh-Azar isn't engaged in one of his own athletic pursuits, he works to convey the importance of health and wellness to local youth. Houman Rezazadeh-Azar teaches martial arts classes to at risk youth through the Department of Youth and Child Welfare, and has been a karate instructor through his own club.
Houman Rezazadeh-Azar also uses his sporting interests to benefit those in need. He has organized charity events through the Vancouver Salsa Dance Club, the Steps to World Peace Dance Tour, and the local snowboarding community.
"Athletics are a great way to raise awareness about important causes, and get people involved in them," commented Houman Rezazadeh-Azar. "Whether it's teaching youth about health or raising money for an organization, sporting events are a very innocuous way to bring a message to people who might just be there to have fun."
While he maintains a busy schedule, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar remains committed to sharing the message of health with local youth and his own peers. And of course, Houman Rezazadeh-Azar will continue to engage in a wide variety of sporting events, improving his own health along the way.
