Chana extends losses, down 0.09% on higher supply
Chana prices extended losses for the second straight day by losing Rs 3 to trade at Rs 3,344 per quintal in futures market on higher supplies from producing belts against sluggish demand in the spot market. At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, April chana shed Rs 3, or 0.09% to Rs 3,344 per quintal with an open interest of 72010 lots. The May contract traded lower by Rs 2, or 0.06% to Rs 3,448 per quintal in 31,210 lots.
Jeera futures remain up on pick up in demand
Jeera prices rose further by adding Rs 30 to Rs 12,955 per quintal in futures trade as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand. However, rising supplies from the new season crop limited the gains.
