Oncology Symptoms and Treatment
Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with cancer. There are three disciplines of oncology which include Medical oncology, Surgical oncology and Radiation oncology.

In recent times, cancer has become rampant due to people's lifestyles. Consequently, it is important that proper diagnosis is done so that a person who is found to have cancer can be put on intervention programs. Oncology concerns itself with therapy, follow ups after the treatment and care of all the patients as well as attempting to answer ethical questions regarding cancer care. This branch also places more emphasis on the screening because unless we are all screened by experts so as to identify and allow early intervention, the disease is most likely to drive very many people to their graves early. The screening also plays a very important role in establishing members of the same family who may have a predisposition to cancer, because it is partly hereditary and partly caused by environmental factors.
Among the early symptoms of breast cancer is a hard lump on the breast. This symptom can be established by the patient without necessarily going to a physician. It is advisable for women to do self examinations by pressing on various parts of the breast on regular basis. If you feel that some parts are becoming hard, one should see a doctor because this is one of the earliest signs of oncology symptoms. The other symptom that should make you seek medical attention is persistent fever which may include bone aches that are very severe, fatigue, abdominal pain and many others.
Full blown cancer is a condition where there are damaged cells in a body organ which divides so many times that lumps form, which are called tumors. Tumors interfere with the various functions of body systems including digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems. In some cases the systems may release hormones that totally affect the way different body organs work.
Hereditary factors play a role in the development of cancer, where one inherits cancerous cells from the parents which then spread to various parts of his body later in life. The cells then start to divide themselves forming tumors. The lifestyle that we lead has been identified as a serious cause of cancer. The type of food we eat which in some cases contains heavy metals can also cause cancer.
