Seattle SEO Company Hosts 'Raise a Website from the Grave' Contest
Halloween is that time of year when ghosts, goblins and ghouls come out to play, and one local based Seattle SEO company is looking to get in on the fun. Up the Rankings, an Internet marketing firm that specializes in helping websites improve

"Many businesses will start a website but then change marketing directions or just completely forget about it", explained John Stanton, co-founder of Up the Rankings. "What we're trying to do is get businesses to show interest in those old websites and sort of bring them back from the 'dead' so to speak."
The contest allows local businesses around the Pacific Northwest to go back and start working on old websitesby updating the look and theme, and adding new updates. But changing the look and theme of the website isn't the only thing that needs to be done. The websites need to also start working on improving their search engine rank.
"A recent study estimated that over 50,000 websites are sitting there in the 'idle' position on the web", said Stanton. "The contest will get people to show interest in these old websites and work on new strategies to help get that website moving up in the search engine ranks."
Up the Rankings plans on offering a wide variety of prizes ranging from gift certificates and gift cards to businesses around the Seattle area, to the grand prize of an all-expenses paid trip to the Caribbean. The contest will run for approximately four months and the winner will be determined by which website moves up in the rankings over the course of the contest period.
"All websites even the ones that are sitting there and haven't been updated in four, five years have a search engine rank", explained Stanton. "We will take the original rank from when the website owner enters the contest and compare it to the rank the website has at the end of the contest. It should be really fun."
Many people around the Puget Sound area are on board with this contest offered by the local based Seattle SEO company.
"I think this contest is a fun and unique way to clean up the Internet's dead websites", explained Joni Streamers, a contest participant. "There are hundreds if not thousands of websites just floating around the Internet that haven't been used. This contest will encourage people to raise them from the dead so to speak and start using them. And it so totally fits the Halloween season!"
