Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) November 19, 2012 - CMMS software programs are often installed by companies in an effort to help workers know what needs work and what doesn't. These software programs keep track of inventory, machine maintenance schedules and other important information, but one group of government workers believes that a particular CMMS software program could lead them to a long lost hidden treasure.

"There have been some rumors around the workplace that there is some long lost hidden treasure somewhere in the facility", said Sylvia Jones, a worker for the government for over seven years. "People are always joking that they'd love to find the treasure and be able to retire early. Nobody has done that yet, but I think with a new CMMS software program someone might be able to find it."

Sylvia Jones and a group of co-workers believe that with a newly implemented CMMS software program all of the inventory in the facilities would be accounted for. This would allow workers to see where anything that is considered excessive might be hiding.

"It's hard to believe that a rumor that has been going around the workplace for over 25 years would be false", said Jones. "There has to be some truth to it. It's just workers have been unable to find the treasure that is linked to it."

The group of workers for the government has petitioned their HR department to help implement this new CMMS software programs. The last CMMS software upgrade was back in 2001. That not only makes the software out of date, but a valid reason to upgrade to the newer software.

"Our department hasn't seen an upgrade in software for several years", explained Jones. "I really think that this would help make a great case for us getting the new software program."

The petition for the new software upgrade is still being considered by the HR department. The funds needed to purchase the software program will come from an ear-marked account that is reserved for government software upgrades.

"The money wouldn't come out of any other fund from the government", explained Jones. "There is a particular fund just for software upgrades and we are asking to have our software upgraded with that money. I don't see how they could refuse our request."

The request will be considered at the next HR meeting, which is scheduled for mid-January. Until then the workers must continue to gossip about the lost treasure and hope their request is granted.
