Market Analysis
High volatility was witnessed during the last one hour or so of trade as key benchmark indices
recovered after hitting fresh intraday low. The barometer index, BSE Sensex, recovered after hitting its
lowest level in over 9-1/2 weeks. The 50-unit S&P CNX Nifty regained positive zone after hitting its
lowest level in 6-1/2 weeks.
 The BSE Sensex was down 9.74 points or 0.05% to 18,329.26.
 The S&P CNX Nifty was up 1.85 points or 0.03% to 5,573.25, as per provisional figures.
 From the 30-share Sensex pack, 16 stocks declined while the rest of them rose.
 Among other capital goods stocks, Siemens, BEML, Bhel, Thermax and Punj Lloyd shed by between
0.42% to 1.6%.Capital goods stocks extended recent losses. L&T was down 0.5%. The company
announced during trading hours today, 20 November 2012, that its construction division has won new
orders worth over Rs 2503 crore across various business segments. Pharma major Lupin rose 1% after
the company announced today, 20 November 2012, that its subsidiary Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc. has
launched its Fenofibrate Tablets, 48 mg and 145 mg strengths in the United States.

in intraday trade today, 19 November 2012. The company early this month said its total sales jumped
85.5% to 1.03 lakh units in October 2012 over October 2011. Capital goods stocks extended recent
losses as data last week showed that capital goods production slumped 12.2% in September 2012 from
a year earlier. L&T fell 1.08%. The company announced after market hours Friday, 16 November
2012, it has agreed to sell its medical equipment business based at Mysore to Skanray Healthcare. L&T
did not unveil the amount of sale consideration.
 Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) rose 0.5% to Rs 823 ahead of its Q2 results today. India's
largest FMCG company by sales Hindustan Unilever (HUL) rose 0.67% to Rs 577.60. Index
heavyweight and cigarette maker ITC rose 0.78% to Rs 285.20. Wockhardt rose 1.73% to Rs 1,442.
The annual rate of inflation, based on the monthly wholesale price index (WPI) stood at 7.81%
(provisional) for the month of September 2012, data released by the government today, 15 October
2012, showed. It was higher than WPI inflation of 7.55% in August 2012.
