Sacramento Internet Provider Fights for Free Internet for All
It's hard to find an electronic gadget or device that isn't Wi-Fi enabled. Tablets, smartphones and eReaders all require some type of ability to connect to the Internet to properly function.

"There are numerous people that I've seen who have to rely upon restaurants, cafes and shops for a free Wi-Fi connection", said Daniel Months, CEO of the startup Free for All Internet. "I felt bad that so many people had to rely upon these places just to get access to the Internet. Why should Internet be so expensive? It should be a thing that everyone has access to no matter what!"
Daniel Months started his campaign for free Internet access for all when his best friend purchased an eReader. His friend was unable to use the product because he couldn't connect to the Internet.
"It was frustrating because my friend just wanted to use the device", said Months. "He had to go to the library to connect to the Wi- Fi just so he could use his eReader. It was insane. It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to fight for free Internet for all."
Daniel Months has created an idea for a Sacramento Internet company that would allow people to have free access to Wi-Fi connections. Every individual with a resident ID number could access the network and use it on a variety of devices.
"We would issue all residents an ID number that they could use to access the network", said Months. "They could use that to hop on the Wi-Fi network."
The entire project would be completely funded on donations. Each resident when signing into the network would be able to donate money to the company. All the money that is donated would go to employing tech support and helping to keep the Internet provider afloat.
"I think a donation based company would be ideal", said Months. "I mean people would pay what they think they should for the service and then no one feels they are overpaying or can't afford the service."
Before this Sacramento Internet provider can be established it must gain the approval of the city council. Daniel Months plans on presenting it to the city council during the January meeting.
"The January meeting would give me time to iron out my plan and present all the facts", said Months. "I'm confident that I will get the approval I need though. So I don't see a problem."
