Year's Most Searched Words Released in List from Seattle SEO Company

The end of the year is a popular time for companies and people to look back on the year's events and summarize what happened in a small list.

Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) December 13, 2012 - The end of the year is a popular time for companies and people to look back on the year's events and summarize what happened in a small list. Movies, books, celebrity gossip, and music are all popular topics for these year-end lists, but a new item will be added to the list this year - most searched keywords for 2012.

The Seattle based search engine optimization company, Organic Search Engine Optimizers, has decided to create their own year-end list of commonly searched keywords. That list was just released the first week of December.

"We have been a Seattle SEO company for a number of years", said John Snider, a longtime employee at Organic Search Engine Optimizers. "Every year we compile a list of the most searched words for the year for our year-end party. This year we thought the public might want to know what they are, especially people in the Seattle area as these are localized search results."

Search engine search results are a great way to see what the trending topics were in a specific area. This year the Organic Search Engine Optimizers released a list of the top five words. These words were a mix of political topics, celebrity topics and even social issues.

"We had to laugh when the first word that came up was 'pot party'", said Snider. "It was a huge topic of interest when Washington legalized marijuana and obviously people were going to celebrate."

The term pot party might have been a funny topic that came up, but other words reflected political issues and celebrity gossip. The two terms that were most commonly searched for include capitalism and socialism.

"These two terms were the most popular words for Webster Dictionary", said Snider. "It's interesting to see that people are looking up the definition and searching it on search engines."

Organic Search Engine Optimizers has only released three of the top five terms. They are releasing one word a week till the end of the year.

"We thought we'd make this a dramatic unveiling of the top searched for terms", said Sally Thomas, the marketing director for the Seattle SEO company. "We created a website that people can visit and see what the top searched term is. It has all these fun graphics and exciting things on there. It really is fun."

The website that unveils the searched terms has been a hit worldwide. The website has had visitors from all over the world including China, Japan and Germany.
