How the First Quad Amputee of the Iraq War Could Benefit From a 15.9 Million Dollar La Jolla Estate
A high profile event in La Jolla to Benefit the Charity "Fueled by The Fallen" (Supporting our nation's fallen and wounded heroes and their families)
(prHWY.com) August 4, 2011 - Marina del Rey, CA -- La Jolla, CA - August 2, 2011 - The Luxury Homes Group is presenting a public Luxury Home Extravaganza in the nearby San Diego community of La Jolla, CA. On Saturday and Sunday, August 6 & 7, 2011, from Noon till 4:00 pm) the Group will be hosting a community event geared to sell a 15.9 million dollar home with stunning ocean views and unbelievable history. A large portion of the proceeds will go to Fueled By The Fallen in support of an Iraq war hero and the war's first quad amputee, Army Specialist, Brendan Marrocco, and others like him.

During the early morning hours of Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, while returning to base after a night mission, Brendan's vehicle sustained a direct hit by an Explosive Fired Projectile (EFP) resulting in one fatality and two injuries. As a result of the EFP entering the vehicle through Brendan's door, Brendan sustained severe, permanent and life changing injuries. He died on the table and was brought back three times.

Brendan's brother, Michael, put his own life on hold in order to take care of his brother who, having gone through multiple surgeries and extensive therapy, requires 24/7 care. The financial and emotional toll on this American hero and his family is unimaginable.
In addition to the sale of the 15.9 million dollar estate, a silent auction will be held with 100% of proceeds going to charity. Auction Items will be displayed in the La Jolla Village (Location TBA - See contact below for update). Local San Diego sponsors and other businesses will also showcase a multitude of items available for purchase and a celebrity gala is being planned, all in support of these two charities.
The La Jolla home itself is worth the invitation to come and take a free tour. The 6 bedroom, 8,232 square foot home was designed around high-end art and antiques. It boasts wrought iron railings/fixtures from Jayne Mansfield's estate, antique furniture, early 20th century tapestries, oil paintings on elevator walls, & many wood statures & stone sculptures. Iron artwork & wine room door are from Esther Williams' estate and there's an antique Mantle from George Washington's Mt. home.

As part of an international group that relocates executives from around the world, the Luxury Homes Group specializes in buying and selling beautiful homes in the most desirable of areas. "Community involvement and charitable contribution is an important part of our mission," states event organizer Marco Olivier. "We believe in making a difference.
