Microsoft Learning Partner Trainedge has launched a campaign to help engineering and MCA students develop Apps for Microsoft
The program is aimed at helping students learn app development skills for Windows Phone 7 platform and gain valuable experience during their final year projects.
(prHWY.com) December 1, 2011 - Bangalore, India -- Bangalore, India - November 2011 - Trainedge, a leading IT training solutions provider and Microsoft Learning Solutions partner, announced that it has been authorized by Microsoft to run Windows Phone 7 App challenge from December 2011 to April 30th 2012. The challenge is part of Microsoft's efforts to build awareness and develop a pool of skilled programmers for its latest mobile platform in India. A similar program launched by Microsoft earlier in the year is ending in November 2011. The new program is aimed at helping BE / B Tech (Engineering) and MCA students develop windows mobile apps for their final year projects.
The final year project is an academic requirement for all Engineering students in India. The MCA students are required to do internship in final year as part of their degree requirement. The Windows Phone 7 App challenge provides a unique opportunity to these students to learn latest mobile technology and earn a valuable certificate from Microsoft, while working on their final year projects. The certificate will help students prove their technical credentials to prospective employers and get ahead in the job market. Final year MCA students have the option of joining Trainedge as interns. It will fulfill the final year projects / internship requirements for MCA and give them multiple chances to get their apps certified by Microsoft.
Students who want to participate will have to register with Trainedge at
www.trainedge.co.in by submitting the online registration form. They will be required to complete an online, self-learning course on Windows Phone 7 to build requisite development skills. Engineering and MCA students will then need to develop and submit at least one app to Trainedge for evaluation and certification. The app can also be used to meet the requirement for final year projects. If the app is complete in all respect then Trainedge will issue a certificate to the student and forward the app to Microsoft for their certification. If the app meets Microsoft's certification standards, it will be approved and listed on the Windows Phone 7 marketplace. The student will also receive a certificate from Microsoft for the approved app.
MCA students requiring internship for their academic requirement should specify it during the registration process. If accepted as an intern, they will develop apps and will receive internship completion certificate towards their final year projects.
"Engineering and MCA students have been clamoring for an opportunity to develop high end mobile applications during their final year projects. This is a great opportunity for the students to showcase their skills to the world. The app will not only be certified by Microsoft but will also be listed in the marketplace providing them a great reference for job interviews" said Prachi Seth, CEO and co-Founder of Trainedge. "We anticipate that students will take full advantage of this unique opportunity to learn and showcase their Windows Phone 7 App development skills during their final year projects"
