(prHWY.com) December 10, 2011 - Pleasanton, CA -- Pleasanton dermatologist Juliana Cinque, MD, is proud to announce that she's written a series of articles about dermatology topics on her website. At
www.jcinque.com, people can read about the treatments Juliana Cinque, MD, provides, and they can learn more about the conditions that might be driving those visits.
Juliana Cinque, MD, knows that patients are often confused when it comes to dermatology topics. Her patients often arrived at appointments with pages printed from the Internet, and those pages often contained gross inaccuracies. "I am consistently amazed at the amount of misinformation floating around out there," Dr. Cinque says. "Some of the data is harmless enough, but sometimes patients read things that are so grossly inaccurate that they'd put their health in danger if they followed the advice."
For example, teens go to tanning beds because they read that tanning beds can help them look younger and more attractive. However, tanning beds also prematurely age the skin. "So that means when you're in your 40s, you look older," Pleasanton dermatologist Juliana Cinque, MD, says. "In fact, California recently banned the use of tanning beds in kids younger than 18. Following this web advice to tan to look good could lead some kids into breaking the law."
On her website,
www.jcinque.com, Juliana Cinque MD, provides short and precise descriptions of a wide variety of conditions. "I don't go into too much detail, because I want people to visit me so I can explain things in person, but I did want to get some accurate information in the hands of people who need it," Dr. Cinque says. "My patients should use the website as a sort of jumping-off point, to learn a little more before they come in for a visit with me."
Juliana Cinque Pleasanton Dermatologist plans to update and expand her website in the coming months, as time allows. "My patients will always be my top priority," Dr. Cinque says, "But I do think the articles will help me reach more people who may not yet have an appointment to see me."
