(prHWY.com) January 20, 2012 - Solihull, NY -- January 20, 2012 - BT has today announced that they will be having nearly half a million photographs and documents from over the last hundred years or so, digitised as a part of a £745,000 project.
It will be to celebrate British Telecom's last 165 years in business, and speaking about the development, David Hay, Head of Heritage at BT said that the project is going to take BT's combined technology and expertise to improve the access, learning and preservation of BT; the world's oldest communications company.
JISC have awarded the money to Coventry University who are in partnership with BT and The National Archives to be in charge of the funding as well as the overseeing of the project.
After providing phone systems business for many years, BT have become one of the most successful communications companies in the world and this is the whole reason behind this project.
The project is set to go into detail about how BT has fitted phone systems at both Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. It will also note all of the previous adverts, technological developments and industrial relations that BT have encountered/been a part of.
