The Frederick Film Festival 2012
The 2012 Frederick Film Festival, the 4th year film event bringing premiere films, film professionals, and special film events has entered its final month of film submissions for the upcoming June 22-24, 2012 event.
(prHWY.com) April 9, 2012 - MD, NY -- April 5, 2012 -- The festival will feature about a dozen feature films and over 50 short films spread over two venues: The Weinberg Center for the Arts and The Cultural Arts Center in downtown Frederick, Maryland. Feature films already selected for this year's event include the SXSW premiere feature Pavilion, the Oscar nominated short Time Freak, and the acclaimed thriller Pig.

This year the festival continues to highlight Frederick regional film with multiple shorts and feature films made in or around Maryland. Filmmaker guests, cast, and crew members will be on hand throughout the weekend and there are numerous opportunities for audience members to interact with the filmmakers as well as local community members about the topics of the films.

Other pre-festival events scheduled for this year include international children's movies at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center on June 2 and 3, a documentary on Frederick artist Charles Forsythe screened at an event with the artist and the filmmaker present, a kickoff musical event, and a special feature called "Eduardo Sanchez Presents..." where Sanchez, director of "The Blair Witch Project", will host a screening of a film of his choice late into the evening.

As events and films are finalized, announcements will be made on the Frederick Film Festival's website: www.FrederickFilmFest.com

Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their films for consideration in the festival. The final deadline for consideration in this year's festival is April 30, 2012 (film must be postmarked by that date). Complete entry information and submission forms are available on the website, just click "submissions". The full schedule will be announced May 15th, 2012.

The Frederick Film Festival -the F3 - is a result of a partnership between Frederick's premiere performing arts venue, the Weinberg Center for the Arts, and Frederick's film organization CinemArts, who have been bringing underscreened, independent, and foreign film to Frederick on a biweekly basis for nearly 7 years.

The purpose of the partnership is to provide an opportunity for a world-class film festival in Frederick and to promote a wide range of films. Films on the schedule include acclaimed foreign films, documentaries and independent films, most being shown for the first time in Frederick, some for the first time in the region, and some for the first time on the East Coast. The F3 also features works from Maryland fimmakers.
