(prHWY.com) September 19, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- The nation has become fascinated with the idea of hoarders. Hoarders are defined as people who tend to save tons and tons of items, garbage and other things to the point that they are unable to move or live a normal life. While most hoarders save huge items that can be stacked up, a select few hoard papers and other items. It is those types of hoarders personal organizer, Sharron Smith hopes to help.
"We noticed that a huge group of hoarders tended to start to hoard paper items", explained Smith. "These people hoard old book reports, menus, newspapers, bills. Anything that is a paper product is hoarded."
Hoarding paper products might not seem that dangerous but it can be extremely dangerous. The papers create hazardous conditions that can either lead to falls or fires. This is why personal organizer Sharron Smith is working to help these people sort through their paperwork.
"I have teamed up with a managed
document review software company to create a program that will help hoarders manage their paperwork", said Smith. "This program will allow me to scan the paper and keep it stored on a central computer for the individual. That way they save the paper items while creating a safe living condition."
Managed document review programs are usually used in large offices where there can be hundreds of pieces of paper. The review programs allow the office to store all the information in one location and free up any loose paper that may be lying around.
"No one has taken the time to really worry about paper hoarders", said Smith. "I think this is a great step to not only raise awareness for their condition. It can also help these people live a normal, healthy lifestyle."
The managed document review software program has donated over 1,000 programs to Sharron Smith. It is believed that these programs can be used while Sharron Smith works with the individuals who come to her for help.
"We hope that we can make a difference", said Chad Murphy, owner of the software company. "I hope by donating these items that I can help someone out there get their life back on track."
Sharron Smith has already used the program on several of her clients and the reception has been amazing.
"I had tons and tons of papers just lying around", said Diana Moore. "This program really helped me get my life back on track."
