One of the highlights of the recently passed Healthcare Reform Act, aka PPACA or Obamacare, is that it brings in some revenue reduction elements into healthcare centers and hospitals. This makes it imperative for hospitals to add greater thrust to their ongoing cost-cutting measures.
Some of the areas in which cost cutting could make a difference to them are labor, supply chain management and capital purchases. Of these, labor is the biggest component, because it is estimated that half of not-for-profit health organizations spend more than half of their revenue on labor, while the figure is around a fourth lesser for for-profit organizations.
This is a major difference, because whether it is for-profit or not-profit; the work in a healthcare setting is the same. Using this reference, this webinar will suggest ways by which healthcare organizations can cut down on labor costs. This will be done of course, without sacrificing quality.
