A Social Media Only Internet San Francisco Residents Will Love

(prHWY.com) November 22, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- When the Internet first made its public debut people used it solely for professional or academic purposes. The Internet has been around for over 30 years and has really changed from when it first came on the scene. Today, the Internet is solely used by people to access a variety of social media websites.

A small startup Internet provider based out of San Francisco is offering local residents a chance to purchase a social media only Internet service. This Internet service would only allow people to visit the popular social media websites and not allow access to other, more traditional websites.

"We surveyed over 10,000 San Francisco residents and many of them said that they only use the Internet for social media purposes", said Chad Rodgers, founder and creator of Socialize Internet. "That got me to thinking about how much money people are wasting on Internet services that they rarely use. That is where the idea for my Internet service came about."

Socialize Internet would provide people with exclusive access to social media websites, such as Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest. There would be no access to search engines, email or other websites.

"I don't think there is a real need to have access to email servers through an Internet provider", explained Rodgers. "After all, people can access their email from smartphones and tablets and even their eReaders. There is no longer a need to have all that information readily available through an Internet provider."

The limited access Internet provider would cost a fraction of what the normal Internet service would cost. Cable Internet service in the San Francisco area can cost approximately $50. This limited service would provide people with access to the sites they need for around $15.

"I think the lower price would draw in a lot of customers", explained Rodgers. "I just hope it works because it's a great idea."

Another huge drawing point to the Internet provider is the ability to allow parents to protect their children from dangerous websites. Allowing access to social media sites only, allows parents to tightly control where their children go on the Internet.

"One of the major reasons I'm looking forward to this type of Internet service is because I can protect my children", said Dolly Harding, a mother of three children. "I think this allows me to give them access to the social media websites they want without worrying they'll go to porn sites or other dangerous places on the Internet."
