(prHWY.com) November 28, 2012 - N/a, CA -- New startups in the technology industry are recorded to be paying shockingly lofty salaries to its employees.
A recent survey conducted by Wealthfront, an online software-based financial advisor, indicated that technology startups are paying its employees some of the highest salaries, specifically in the Silicon Valley. The survey included data provided by more than 8,000 employees of 135 private technology companies working at non-executive levels which led to these results.
The data supplied indicated that IT jobs that are high in demand and require skills that are in little supply, such as the software engineer jobs are among the most highly paid jobs in the market, even in startups. People with these skills are reportedly earning six-figure salaries as startups compete to keep them on board.
The survey disregards the biggest perception about startups that people hold; they pay less. As IT jobs get more in demand, tech startups are giving equally competitive salaries than any other big company. Depending on the location of the startup and the type of work you do, your salary can vary accordingly. According to the survey, almost all new tech companies are paying a mean compensation that amounts up to $112,000.
Software engineer jobs are faring particularly well, surprisingly in places other than the Silicon Valley as the competition for skilled labor force rises. Moreover, it is not only the high-tech IT jobs that hold significance. Most startups are also paying good compensation packages to employees of other departments such as Human Resource, and Sales and Marketing, all faring an average of six-figure salaries.
A spokesperson of IT Jobs Wanted, an online IT job portal says, "New startups, most of the time, pay equal and sometimes even higher salaries for high tech IT jobs all over the country. High tech jobs are in high demand in the current scenario and can be a lucrative career path. If you are looking for a job, startups are much better than big companies due to their flexibility and culture."
