Turmeric and jeera rise on pick-up in demand
Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the
national capital today due to a pick-up in demand from local
parties amid improvement in overseas enquiries. Turmeric prices
rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,400-9,600 per quintal. Jeera
common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to
conclude at Rs 14,400-14,500 and Rs 17,100-17,500 per quintal,
respectively.Traders said buying support from retailers and
exporters against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly
pushed up turmeric and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana
market here.
