(prHWY.com) December 18, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- People often laugh at the idea that there is a home shopping network. This entire TV network is devoted to selling a variety of items to people in their homes, but what if the home shopping network is going to go virtual with a home shopping internet provider?
The city of San Francisco may be in for a treat when the first ever home shopping internet provider is released. The date hasn't been announced yet, but some of the details have come to light.
"What this is essentially is an entire internet provider dedicated to providing people with access to popular shopping websites", explained the creator of the internet service. "People are always saying that they only use the Internet for shopping, so I thought I'd provide them with exclusive access to these shopping sites."
The
Internet provider would not allow customers to visit other websites, such as Facebook or Twitter. The only sites that the individual would be able to visit were ones that were shopping websites.
"We are currently working with companies to create a way to offer discounts to those that sign up for this internet service", explained the creator. "It would be sort of like an exclusive discount for those that did sign up and use this. I think it could really take off."
Recent research conducted by the University of Internet Technology, suggests that over 45% of shoppers shop online. Another 20% of shoppers use home shopping channels to purchase their items.
"There is a huge demand for online shopping, as well as TV channels", explained the creator. "I think this could really take off if done properly."
There is talk that the Internet provider could provide customers with access to a shopping channel of sorts. Hosts would conduct a webcast where they showed new items to the audience, and offered them deals of the day. This is a similar format to the shopping channels.
"I'm not sure where this will go, but I have high hopes for it", explained the creator. "There has been a huge interest in it on the public side. It's just a matter of talking to the shopping channels and working things out with them."
If all goes well, the creator of the internet provider hopes to have this internet option available for purchase by the end of 2013. A list of interested internet San Francisco customers has already been started and over 45 names are hoping to be updated on this internet provider's progress.
