Retailers running a dropshipping program could find their eBay or Amazon seller accounts closed if they don't prepare for the holiday rush. Learn what you can do to avoid this problem, says online wholesaler Chinavasion.

Shenzhen, China (prHWY.com) January 2, 2013 - Shenzhen - Retailers that depend on dropshipping but who don't prepare for the holiday season risk being kicked out of the business, according to China wholesale company Chinavasion.

"It is important to remember," Li cautions, "that a lack of preparation can and often does result in a closed eBay or Amazon seller account."

Li says that retailers using a dropship business model need to coordinate very closely with their dropship wholesaler. They need to know at all times if their dropshipping source has the goods in stock and if they can deliver on time.

Retailers also need to keep a very sharp eye out for the claims of shipping services. Some shipping options offer unrealistic arrival dates that are virtually impossible to stick to - especially during the sheer amount of postal volume that wells up during the holiday seasons.

"It can be risky for a retailer to depend entirely on direct dropship," Li emphasizes. "This is especially true if the dropship supplier itself is burning through its supplies and is pressed to deliver a ton of products during the holiday rush."

Li cites the cases of retailers that had to close their seller accounts because they recklessly kept on taking dropshipping orders without checking back with their dropship supplier or the shipping services used.

"Get enough disgruntled customers that didn't receive the products they paid for and you will find your eBay or Amazon account getting shut down," says Li.

A retailer can establish a dropship program by providing a client's shipping address to a dropship supplier, wherein the said supplier will ship products directly to the client instead of the retailer.

Chinavasion PR manager Rose Li points out how painless and effective this dropshipping setup can be during the slower months of the year. She notes that it can also be quite convenient for a retailer since there is no need to physically store the items to be sold.
