One Lapel Pin, Two Organizations Partnering More Awareness for Child Sexual Abuse

In order to reduce or completely put an end to the alarming increase in the spate of sexual child abuse, Breaking The Silence is partnering with The Pin People to transform their campaign symbol into a handcrafted lapel pin.

Spring Valley, NY (prHWY.com) January 12, 2013 - Inspired by the red ribbon project of the Visual AIDS artist in 1991 against HIV AIDS and its immediate impact at reducing the scourge of the deadly disease, Breaking The Silence, an action research project at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago is partnering with The Pin People to help transform the symbol of their child sexual awareness campaign into a handcrafted lapel pin that can be worn by people. The ethnic and gender sensitive symbol, a blue teddy bear with a plaster on its chest was designed to create a sudden consciousness in the minds of people about child sexual abuse.
