First developed in 1988 in the ruggedly stunning terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, the Farms, an elite, member-owned equity golf facility was built for golf aficionados. Originally conceived by Pete, Perry and Alice Dye in collaboration with golf professional Tommy Jacobs, the course underwent extensive remodeling in 2000 led by John Frought and golfing legend Tom Lehman.

The modifications incorporated into the course were designed to improve the course's playability and the maintainability. Changes to the course included new construction and re-contoured bent grass putting greens, brand-new teeing areas as tight as the greens, and bunkers that will really put a golfer's ability to the test.

The Farms course also features a state-of-the-art course watering system and a superb practice facility that offers a double-ended driving range replete with target greens and hilt bunkering obstacles. And overlooking the magnificent range is the 38,000-squarefoot Robert Altevers-designed clubhouse that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire course.

Membership is by invitation only and a candidate for membership must have at least two sponsors who are active members of the club. The Farms recently hosted their Founders Day Invitational Tournament last October 10-13 and a Kids Halloween party on the 28th of the same month. Also, the club launched a new website and Facebook page last September.
