Lauderdale was a high school student, he was selected to serve on the board of directors of the Bayonne, NJ Jewish Community Center, beginning a path of community service that characterizes his career and life today. As founder and lead attorney for the Ft. Lauderdale law firm of Slootsky, Perez & Braxton, Mr. Slootsky continues to serve the community through his practice of personal injury and Workers' Compensation law.

Mr. Slootsky serves his profession in many capacities. A former co-chair of the Workers' Compensation section for Broward County, FL, Mr. Slootsky's duties included overseeing functions related to injuries of Broward County employees under the county's self-insurance program. He is a Bronze member and former board member of the Florida Workers' Advocates, an organization dedicated to protecting the rights of injured workers in Florida; Eagle status with the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers; and a member of the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Southern District for the U.S. District Court.

Outside of the law firm, Mr. Slootsky is an active parent and volunteer at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, where he is on the board of directors for both the Spanish River High School Foundation and PTA. He also serves as Baseball Booster Club president, Tennis Booster Club vice president and assistant coach, and Gator Club parent advisor.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, Attorney Slootsky earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration at George Washington University, where, as a college student, he ran the intramural program. He is a graduate of Nova Law School, where fellow law students elected him to the Student Bar Association.
