Dr Jawed Ehsan Receives Professional Excellence Award

Commissioner Marie E Billingsly recognizes Dr. Jawed Ehsan with the Professional Excellence Award.

Schaumburg, IL (prHWY.com) January 17, 2013 - Commissioner Marie E. Billingsly, President of the Chicago Housing Authority, is pleased to announce that Dr. Jawed Ehsan as a recipient of the city's prestigious Professional Excellence Award. The presentation of the Professional Excellence Award to Dr. Jawed Ehsan was telecasted on major television networks including NBC, FOX News, CBS, and WGN.

"While the award certainly recognizes excellence in the workplace, it goes much deeper than that," said the commissioner. "We thank you for your service to our community." Throughout the years and in various capacities, Dr. Jawed Ehsan has volunteered his skills to the greater good of the Chicago community.

In 1997, Dr. Jawed Ehsan performed services free of charge to the senior citizens in Chicago, especially those living in the Chicago Housing Authority and those who could not afford healthcare. Without seeking any reward or recognition, Dr. Jawed Ehsan selflessly offered his medical skills so that elders could benefit with a higher quality of life. Two years later during the July 1999 heat wave, Dr. Jawed Ehsan helped distribute 300 fans and performed medical procedures to help prevent heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Because of Dr. Jawed Ehsan's involvement during the heat wave, at least 18 lives were saved. It is because of community service efforts like these alongside his professional conduct that Dr. Jawed Ehsan has been recognized with the Professional Excellence Award.

Though Dr. Jawed Ehsan has been recognized for his philanthropic efforts, he doesn't volunteer for the recognition or fame. Rather, he volunteers because he believes that everyone is in a position to be able to help someone else. "If we would all take the time to help at least one other person each day, the world would be a better place," says Dr. Jawed Ehsan. He hopes that others, particularly young people, will be encouraged by his example to volunteer in the local community.

Though there are many demographics to serve, Dr. Jawed Ehsan has much respect and admiration for the elderly, which is why many of his community service efforts are aimed towards elders. Dr. Jawed Ehsan is 50 years old and practices medicine in the greater Chicago region.
