Dealing with Lipoma
Have you noticed a few lumps in certain areas of your body, just beneath your skin? Are these lumps growing in number such that you've started to become concerned? Well, it's only natural for you to be concerned.

What exactly is a lipoma? Simply put, it is fat growth in a fibrous capsule just below your skin. The areas that are most commonly affected are your neck, torso, upper arms, armpits, and upper thighs, although they can occur in just about every part of your body. As mentioned above, it's possible for you to have more than one lipoma at a time. Perhaps the best news you can hear regarding this growth is that it is benign, which means there's no threat of it ever transforming into a cancerous growth. It is, in fact, the world's most common non-cancerous growth.
Although the exact cause of this growth is not yet completely understood by the medical community, it has been discovered that your tendency to develop lipoma can be inherited. When you have a natural tendency to develop lipoma, it can easily be triggered even by minor injury. Contrary to what many people used to think (or probably still think), the growth isn't caused by being overweight. You'll know you have lipoma when the lump you feel just below the surface of your skin is soft, rubbery, and movable. There should also be no pain when you press down on the growth.
Since lipomas aren't cancerous, there's no real need to treat them or have them removed and perhaps skin rejuvenation is really all you need. There are also no known preventive measures that can keep these growths from occurring. However, you may indeed need to have your lipoma treated or removed if it becomes inflamed, infected, and painful. If the growth increases in size such that it becomes unsightly or restricts your movement in any way, then it may also be a good idea to seek treatment.
As with any other medical condition, you have the option of having your lipoma surgically removed in a skin centre or treating it the natural way. Your best option may be to try home remedies first before considering surgery. Applying castor oil on the area where the growth is several times each day is said to be effective for reducing its size. It is also advised that you drink lemon juice, which flushes out toxins and gets your liver working smoothly, thus reducing the size of any fatty lumps you may have. These are just a few of the remedies you can try for getting rid of bothersome lipoma.
