Jenson Button Confident of a "Very Strong" Team Up with Sergio Perez at McLaren

McLaren's Jenson Button expressed his confidence on his partnership with Sergio Perez. The 22-year old racing driver joined Vodafone McLaren Mercedes following the departure of Lewis Hamilton.

London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) January 21, 2013 - Since joining the McLaren racing team in 2010, Jenson Button is looking forward to a great working relationship with their newest addition, Sergio Perez. He will take the place of Lewis Hamilton, who will be with Mercedes this 2013.

Formerly from Sauber, "Checo" Perez has already scored three podiums for the 2012 season, which is why Button is confident with the team up. With his current driving standing, he has been able to demonstrate his ability, give great results, and make an impact to the racing world.

With Hamilton leaving, Jenson Button has this to say, "I had three fantastic seasons racing alongside Lewis, but nothing stays the same in Formula One and people move on". Having a new partner has not been disappointing for him. In fact, he expressed his delight to have this wonderful opportunity, welcoming Perez to McLaren.

"It's always interesting to have a new team-mate - there's that inevitable getting-to-know-you period when you're settling in," he said.

For Button, there is nothing wrong with having an addition to the team. What matters is that they, along with the engineers, work together with one goal-perform well and give their best for the good of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.

When it comes to his impression on his new team-mate, he believes that Perez' good judgment and his achievements with Sauber the previous season are good indicators of a strong partnership between them.

In another note, Button stated that he can't wait to drive the McLaren MP4-28 for the pre-season testing this year.

According to him, "Testing is where you see a racing driver at the opposite end of the spectrum to when we're in a grand prix - it's never really about raw speed; it's about process, repetition, repeatability, about following your instincts but backing it up with good engineering."
