Dog Sledding Holidays Are Popular Alternative To Skiing
This year's post-Christmas winter season is notable for the increasing number of resorts which have opted to include dog sledding holidays in their winter activity programmes.

Amateur enthusiasts of this sport will have a sizeable array of destinations at their disposal, in which to give free rein to their love of mushing.
The obvious focal point of such resorts is the northern regions of the world, in some of which dog-pulled sleds continue to be used in day-to-day life. Several resorts in regions like Vermont (USA), Quebec (Canada), Alberta (Canada) or Kamloops (Canada) include the sport as part of their winter package, offering dog sledding holidays as an alternative to skiing, snowboarding, or any of the other typical winter-break activities.
More surprising, however, is seeing resorts in places such as Alpes D'Huez, in somewhat lower and warmer latitudes, offering this sort of programme. Whilst the French Alps are undoubtedly one of the prime regions for winter sports, they are not traditionally associated with mushing, and the inclusion of this option in their winter packages comes across as something of a surprise.
