The London wedding dress designer responsible for Kate Middleton's gown received an OBE (Order Of The British Empire) for her efforts, in a ceremony last month.

Sarah Burton, who designed the Duchess of Cambridge's understated yet sumptuous dress, received her condecoration from the hands of the Prince of Wales, for services to the British fashion industry.

Other than Ms Burton, this ceremony saw an MBE (Member Of The Britih Empire) be awarded to April Ashley, Britain's first trans-gendered citizen, for services to sexual equality, and a Conspicuous Gallantry cross presented to Serjeant Deacon Cutterham, who plunged his arm into a water-filled ditch in Afghanistan to retrieve a grenade and throw it to safety
