Future Technology Gurus Created Through Use of Fun Girl Games
A recent study released by the psychology department at Great Lakes Community College revealed that girls are less likely to adapt to changes in technology. The study suggests that girls often show little to no interest in technology changes,

A research in gender studies at Great Lakes Community College has used this study to come up with a way to encourage girls to become future technology gurus. This researcher believes that by encouraging females with fun girl games they will be encouraged to pick up on changes in technology.
"Girls are reluctant to jump in on technology changes", explained the researcher. "If we show them that technology can be fun, they will want to take part in some of the changes in the future. Who knows we could be creating the next Bill Gates and not even known it."
The IT department and the gender studies department at Great Lakes Community College plans on working together to create a game that will encourage girls to further explore technology. Hopes are high that this collaborative effort can create a project that girls will love and enjoy.
"It is our hope that the games that we create will stimulate a girl's interest in technology for the rest of her life", explained one of the individuals working on the project. "Technology is not presented in a way that encourages girls. Combine that with the fact that technology development is mainly dominated by males and you have a recipe for disaster."
Great Lakes Community College plans on trying to get other departments on board with this creative fun project. The childhood development department is considering jumping on board and helping with creating these fun girl games.
"We think the help of the childhood development department could come in really handy", explained the lead creative developer for the project. "I think they could offer feedback into what children look for in games, what they might find appealing, and how to word the instructions and game information in a way a child could understand."
This is the first school-wide project that Great Lakes Community College had undergone. The school plans on completing the project within the next year and hopefully offering these fun girl games to the public by 2014.
"We hope to be able to sell these fun girl games in the school bookstore", explained the project manager. "I think these games could be helpful and I just want to get girls engaged with technology. This project is a step in the right direction."
