Seattle, WA (prHWY.com) January 22, 2013 - The captain of a fishing ship made an odd discovery while traveling back to port this month. Captain Ambrose of the Good Ship Lollipop discovered a set of moving pods that were just drifting out on the ocean.

"I was approximately 1,000 miles from port when I noticed what looked like a pod of moving pods just floating on the ocean", explained Captain Ambrose. "It was so weird. I've never seen anything like that at all."

Thinking that the moving pods might have been a lost shipment from one of the nearby ships he put out a call through the radio. The call for local cargo ships to answer went unanswered.

"I really thought that these moving pods might be lost cargo", explained the captain. "I didn't want a ship to pull into port and notice that it was missing a ton of cargo, so I put the call out. It went unanswered, which means that there weren't ships in the area or they didn't want to acknowledge the cargo or the call."

Captain Ambrose made a call to the coast guard who sent out a crew to inspect the moving pods. It appears as if the multiple pods had a number of unexpected things.

"It appears as if these moving pods were being used by a group of college students for a social experiment", explained the coast guard. "They were trying to see if they could live at sea in one of these small enclosed areas. They thought that the moving pods provided ample space to live."

While this may have been a social experiment, it is a good thing that Captain Ambrose came across the floating moving pods. The college students did not expect to move so far away from the coast and would have been lost at sea.

"It appears as if there was a freak storm during the evening", explains one of the college students. "We didn't plan on this storm and it blew us out to see. We were literally a thousand miles away from where we were planning on being."

While the college students are crediting Captain Ambrose with saving their lives, they are also amazed at another thing. They are amazed at how well the moving pods held up.

"It's amazing how well the moving pods held up while on the ocean", said the college students. "It barely looks like it went through a storm. That just shows how well they've been made."

The college student's experiment has been halted for the time being. They plan on regrouping and reorganizing their project, and starting again next summer.
