Iowa, IA (prHWY.com) January 26, 2013 - Our goal is to encourage and increase youth participation in San Diego tackle and flag football and cheerleading by providing a safe and positive playing environment for all participants, and to instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the field.

For over 25 years RPPW has served the Rancho Penasquitos community. We have produced hundreds of "Friday Night Light" heroes for Cathedral Catholic, Mt. Carmel and Westview High Schools and have been the training ground for many coaches that have moved on to coach at the High School level. Our coaches are certified through several continuing education programs and clinics every year to ensure a safe & fun environment. The cheer squads consistently compete and represent at the Wescon Regional and National Pop Warner levels.

RPPW is open to kids ages 5 to 15 to play youth football that live within the Rancho Penasquitos Pop Warner Boundaries. Overall, our boundaries are in the Poway Unified School District. Any student who is living in the high school district for Mt Carmel or Westview High Schools is eligible for RPPW.

Geographic: RPPW youthfootball league serves all residents in zip code 92129, in 92128 south of Poway Road, and 92127 south of San Dieguito Rd. to Carmel Valley Road to include Willow Grove Elementary and South Village Park.

RPPW is proud to be the area's local association of the national Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. organization. RPPW was founded in 1986 in the Rancho Penasquitos area and serves the families within the Poway School District, including the areas of Black Mountain Ranch, Del Sur, Torrey Highlands, Santa Luz and Carmel Mountain Ranch. Last year, more than 330 boys and girls were enrolled in RPPW in both football and cheer. This season promises to be another banner season.

Founded in 1929 and headquartered in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is the world's largest youthtackle and flag football and cheerleading team organization and the only youthsports organization that emphasizes academics as a prerequisite for participation. Currently, there are over 400,000 children in Pop Warner organizations in 43 states, Guam, Scotland, Germany, Russia, Japan and Mexico.

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is a Youth Partner of the NFL... the NFL Players Association estimates that 70% of all current NFL Players got their starts in Pop Warner programs!!!

Age-Weight Structure & Safety, Safety, Safety! - Kids compete with kids of similar age and size. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict AGE & WEIGHT MATRIX that reduces the risk and reality of injuries. Did you know that Pop Warner football is safer than soccer? Pop Warner football has 12% fewer injuries per capita among 5-15 year olds than organized soccer in the same age range!

NFL Youth Football Partner - Pop Warner is a proud NFL Youth Football Partner. Pop Warner programs are eligible for Travel grants, organizational grants, and facility grants through this great relationship.

Mandatory Play Requirements - Everyone participates under mandatory rules of play. Each San DiegoFlag and Tackle football league may set a higher number of Mandatory Plays, but never less than the minimum set by National Pop Warner. All MPR's should be based on eligible players at the time of the game.

More than just athletes! - Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is the only national youth football sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. We believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.

Coaches and Adult Codes - All coaches, football and spirit participants must abide by a Code of Conduct which includes several provisions. If any of these rules are broken, the League shall have the authority to impose a penalty
