ALHOSN University joins Tamaiaz & Falak Tayyeb Award to promote student engagement
Prof. Sabouni recommends addition of new category for engineering projects

ALHOSN University has joined a consortium comprising 11 public and private universities for the nomination of best student's project and research study under an initiative launched by the Board of Trustees of the Tamaiaz & Falak Tayyeb Award. It is the only Abu Dhabi-based private university to take part in the initiative.
In a press conference held recently, Prof. Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO of ALHOSN University, proposed the addition of a new category dedicated o engineering projects before the Award's Board of Trustees. the Tamaiaz & Falak Tayyeb Award requires every participating university to submit not less than 20 outstanding projects or research work in addition to projects submitted individually by students. The university with the most number of projects and studies will be awarded special honors.
Participating universities include UAE University, Zayed University, University of Sharjah, Ajman University of Science and Technology, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Dubai Higher Colleges of Technology (Male and Female Campuses), Dubai University, American University of Sharjah, Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), and ALHOSN University. Prof. Sabouni lauded the organizers of the Award and noted the extraordinary efforts of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, to promote student excellence. He also underlined ALHOSN's great success and commitment in the past seven years to bring the dreams of national students and graduates to fruition.
"Although this is the first time that ALHOSN University is taking part in the Tamaiaz & Falak Tayyeb Award, we have been staying abreast of the remarkable achievements of the Award in the past years. The Award had been instrumental in fueling students' desire to achieve excellence and self-fulfillment. I would like to take this opportunity to propose before the Board of Trustees to add a new category that covers engineering projects," said Prof . Sabouni.
The Tamaiaz & Falak Tayyeb Award was launched in 2007 to encourage UAE Nationals who are senior students or recent graduates of governmental or private universities to excel in their academic and professional lives. It aims to boost competitiveness and creativity, encourage the pursuit of higher education degrees in UAE universities, and increase readiness to enter the workforce and participate in the new economy. The Award spans several categories, including Marketing, Communication and Media; Design, Photography and Film; Leadership & Management; Accounting, Banking & Finance; Society and the Environment; Technology, Inventions, and Entrepreneurship; and Business and Commerce.
Named after the famous ALHOSN Palace in Abu Dhabi, ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company to address the growing demand for high-quality educational institutions in the UAE. It offers 12 undergraduate and 7 graduate programs under the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Business, and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to students of all nationalities as well as those with special needs.
