Dubai, United Arab Emirates (prHWY.com) January 28, 2013 - As a part of its endeavour to limit speed and to ensure safety of passengers, the Ministry of Interior in association with Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA) has conformed to make speed limiters mandatory for private passenger buses that hold a capacity of 22 passengers.

The device has been tested in Dubai by the authorities concerned and found to be effective meeting the international specifications. The law is already in effect from January 2013 however, fleet owners have time until March to get the buses installed with the speed limiters.

The primary function of the speed limiters is to control the fuel feed to the engine in order to limit the vehicle speed to a preset value. Whenever a speed is excessed, a speed sensor integrated in the vehicle, decreases the fuel flow to the engine and eventually reduces the speed of the vehicle.

The base cost of the equipment is AED 1200 which is nothing as compared to the benefits it offers. In addition to the superior control that the speed limiters provide to the driver in times of emergencies it also controls the vehicle, precisely over the preset speed which will reduce fuel consumption drastically.

Moreover, control over speeding means, less number of braking, less vibration, less engine strain, less wear and tear, altogether a smooth performance saving fuel. Additionally, the speed limiter also causes an optimum performance of the engine, resulting in ideal firing with minimum exhaust gases, and thus reducing air pollution.

The speed limiters are developed and manufactured in the UAE by M/s Autograde the authorized manufacturer of the speed limiting device in UAE. "Autograde has over the years become a synonym for road speed limiters with its impeccable track record for reliability, technical excellence, value for money and after sale services. Following quality standards as per GSO 1626: 2002 the equipment is made of international standards and is manufactured in India and UAE. Our years of experience suggest that the companies that have adopted the speed limiters have seen the benefits, both practical and financial and we hope the same to happen here." Said Mr. Mohammed Ashraf, the Managing Director of Autograde.

The speed control device is ready to be installed and is available across leading automobile dealers across UAE.
