Los Angeles, CA (prHWY.com) January 28, 2013 - Like any other games or sports, injuries are inevitable and unavoidable fact. Surfing is not rule out. There are many types of injuries that surfers have to suffer during the surf. It is very common that surfers usually have the back, knee and shoulder pain. In addition, it is very obvious that the more challenging surfing actions or performances you take, the greater risks and injuries will be. Therefore, preparing psychologically for injuries is a wise thing we should know.

It is very common that surfers will easily to suffer from the knee, shoulder and back pains. Surfing is the sport that requires all of the movements of whole body from head, neck, arms, body to legs. However, the most moving parts are shoulders, back and knees. As a result, these types of pains are common. Therefore, the warming up before surfing is very important. You need to do this step carefully and correctly. It is good to spend at least 15 minutes to warm up before starting to surf. This will make your parts of body get better endurances. Many people usually skip this step. In my opinion, it is so big mistake of doing so. And the reality also has shown that they have to pay a high price for that that they have suffered from those pains. David is one of my best friends. He likes to surf so much especially when he has free time. However, he hasn't taken part in any surfing club but learns to surf by himself. As a result, he skips many professional and required steps in surfing. Yesterday, he came to my home and told me his back and knee were so terrible and had me instruct him how to have a best surfing.

Another common type of injury is water suffocation. This happens to many surfers including the professional and amateur ones. This happens when surfers fall off the paddle boards into the water. Sometimes, this kind of accident is very dangerous to surfers, especially the new ones. People can not swim or can not swim well easy to be caught up in this situation of water drowning. Therefore, the best way to avoid this is to learn to swim as good as possible. In another case, if you can not swim well, the best way is to surf in shallow water where you can rescue and ovoid water drowning easier by yourself.

In summary, injuries are unavoidable in surfing. Best preparations before surfing are the only medicine for that. Good luck.
