At present, the successful restaurant is conducting two donation programs with the benefit of the country's children in mind.

Since 2008, Black Bear Diner has raised and donated more than $375,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. For December 2012, the restaurant is currently conducting the "Save Room for a Wish" program. The program has Black Bear Diner donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every cake, pie, or cobbler sold within the month.

Along with their Make-A-Wish Foundation program, Black Bear Diner has also recently involved itself with The Boys and Girls Club. For the2012 NFL Season, Black Bear Diner is working with David Akers of the San Francisco 49ers with the "Club Kick!" program. For every successful kick and extra point David makes, the restaurant donates $100 to The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco.

With David Akers successfully making 68 kicks in the season to date, Black Bear Diner is on pace to make another significant donation to a worthy program.
