Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) January 30, 2013 - Case studies are defined as collection of facts, opinion and judgment relating to actual places of business where there are problems that require solutions or result.

Case study are popular today in studying all aspect of management such as law, medical, engineering, psychology., Marketing such as Marketing mix Case Study, Case Study on Marketing, Benchmark, Branding., for Business Prospective such as Business management, Business Ethic..Etc.

Case present business problems where facts, opinions, principles and judgment are in conflict. Therefore, responsible executive must take immediate action in a business environment to save the business from collapse by effectively resolving the conflict.

There are two types of approaches in carrying out case study

1. Issue Case Management define particular problems requiring an analysis to critically analyze or diagnose the problem and prepare recommendation designed to oversee the identified problem.

2. Appraisal Cases, a problem has been analyzed and decision already made by the management, then an analyses appraise it and confirm whether such decision require adjustment modification or whether it should be implemented as recommended.

Relevance of case study to management

# It tries to give critical problems and provides opportunity and solution for better result.

# It affords management opportunity to become analytical to their marketing issues and marketing problems.

# It helps them to become constructive in their comment and critics about marketing problems.

# It enables marketing manager to constantly and consistently identify forces threatening marketing environment so as to have effective control over them or manipulation of the forces.

# It reduces chances of errors in implementing marketing decision.

# Through case study marketing manager become research oriented, able to indentify deviations from expected earlier enough.

Case Analysis Steps

a. Analyze business situation critically through concept development

b. Diagnose the problems by identifying minor and major problems.

c. Develop alternative solution to the problems.

d. Develop analytical ability and judgment.

Evaluation of this alternative course of action is necessary. The advantages and disadvantages of each should be carefully stated.
