Thermax reports Q3 revenue; net profit plunges 20%

Thermax Ltd for the third quarter of financial year 2012-13 has registered operating revenue of Rs1,047 crore, lower by 18% compared to Rs1,269 crore for the corresponding period last year

Navi Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) February 1, 2013 - Pune: Thermax Ltd for the third quarter of financial year 2012-13 has registered operating revenue of Rs1,047 crore, lower by 18% compared to Rs1,269 crore for the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax for the quarter was Rs109 crore and profit after tax stood at Rs76 crore, a dip of 20% from last year's Rs95 crore.

For the nine month period (April-December), the company's operating revenue was Rs3,223 crore (last year, Rs3,617 crore). Year-till-date, it posted a profit before tax of Rs339 crore (Rs404 crore), and a profit after tax of Rs. 235 crore (Rs277 crore).

On a consolidated basis, Thermax Group's total operating revenue for the nine months stood at Rs3,812 crore (Rs4200 crore). Profit after tax was Rs216 crore (Rs289 crore). The order backlog of the group is at Rs5,191 crore, compared to Rs5,809 crore last year.

The company's order book stands at Rs1284 crore, twice the order book compared to same period last year. During the quarter, Thermax has bagged EPC contract worth Rs503 crore. The order from a leading Government of India enterprise involves setting up a captive power plant for its new three million tons per annum integrated steel plant in Central India. The scope of work includes designing, engineering, constructing and commissioning the project on a turnkey basis.
