indore, India (prHWY.com) February 1, 2013 - Jeera futures fall 0.93 pc on higher output hopes.
Jeera prices fell by 0.93 per cent to Rs 13,527.50 per quintal in futures trading as speculators trimmed positions largely on hopes of higher output this year. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, Jeera for delivery in April fell by Rs 127.50, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 13,527.50 per quintal with an open interest of 5,688 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in the March contract declined by Rs 125, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 13,440 per quintal in 11,466 lots.
Spot turmeric gains as arrivals dip.
Poor arrival pushed up spot turmeric. Though exporters and traders did not receive upcountry orders, spot turmeric increased, as only 3,000 bags arrived. Of the arrival, 75 per cent stocks were sold, mostly to stockists. A few traders purchased the quality crop. The new crop will arrive within a few days," said Erode Turmeric Merchants Association President R.K.V. Ravishankar
