London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) February 13, 2013 - It was recently reported in the news that poaching of Africa rhinos is at its highest rate in 20 years. In 2011, thousands of rhinos were killed, with the demand in the Chinese market seen as the biggest driver of poaching.

A volunteer organisation in Africa is now recommending that people who care for African rhinos and wildlife in general sign up to a wildlife conservation project in order to help to their part to protect the wildlife of the continent.

Gap Africa projects allows people from all walks of life to volunteer on placements throughout Africa, many of which involve a wildlife conservation project. Volunteers can stay in the Kariega Game Reserve in South Africa, for example, to spend up to three months working with animals.

The organisation says that volunteering is more important than ever with the grim news about the harm being done to the African rhino population. By doing a small bit to help, volunteers can have a direct influence on wildlife in Africa as well as help to spread awareness of the problems in the region.
