Indian Merchants' Chamber has organized Fusion Conference 2013 here today. This year IMC has introduced excellence awards in the field of Entertainment, Media and Sports.

Mumbai, India (prHWY.com) February 17, 2013 - Mumbai, 16 February 2013: Indian Merchants' Chamber has organized Fusion Conference 2013 here today. This year IMC has introduced excellence awards in the field of Entertainment, Media and Sports. Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan bagged the award for 'Excellence in Entertainment' where as Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited got the award for 'Excellence in Media' and PROCAM for Standard Chartered Marathon for 'Excellence in Sports'. Mr. Amit Goenka of Zee Entertainment and Mr Vivek and Mr Anil Singh of PROCAM received the awards for their respective organizations fromMr. Niranjan Hiranandani, President, IMC.

The day-long Fusion Conference kick started with the session on Women in Cinema & Entertainment: New Realities and Challenges, moderated by noted film and media personality Mr. Kabir Bedi.

Sessions on the following topics were also organized in the conference:
* 21st Century Entertainment: Talent Creation and Challenges of Nurturing and Mentoring
* The Brewing Content Battle
* Reality Shows on TV
* Script is the Star: Can it also deliver Rs100 crore at the Box-office?

Mr. Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-inChief,exchange4media, Mr. Prahlad Kakkar, ad filmmaker, Mr. Madhur Bhandarkar, Filmmaker, Mr. Sudhir Misra, Filmmaker, Ms. Tabasum Modi, Executive Director, EduMediaindia.com, Ms. Kiran Juneja Sippy, Actor - Producer, Ms Raveena Tandon, Actor, Mr Shekhar Suman, Actor were the speakers among others who spoke on various topics.

A presentation on 'Changing face of Indian Cinema: Finance Perspective' was also made at the Conference by Mr. Aditya Mehta, Chief Investment Officer, Dar MentorCap.

Panel on various topics at the conferences opined the following:

* Earlier also we were producing women centric movies, but now the difference is that we are making movies celebrating the womanhood.

* The Indian cinema has set a new trend after the arrival of the year 2000 with many successful launches of women centric movies and more producers coming forward to make these types of movies now-a-days

* Mentoring is the most important factor in the process of staying ahead of times in entertainment industry today

* Digitisation is the new mantra and way forward in entertainment industry

* Content creators have to redefine and recreate their net work

* TRPs on various reality shows may drop, but these shows are here to stay

* A good script is the one that can be marketed in 30 seconds without a superstar

Earlier, Mr Shailesh Vaidya, Vice President, IMC delivered the welcome note and Mr. Arvind Pradhan proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Sanjoy Chakrabarty made the theme presentation on Fusion Conference 2013.

Event Partner Hong Kong Trade Development Corporation's Mr. Sunny Chau made a presentation on various opportunities and for the film and content industry in the Hong Kong market.
