John S Clark Company Closes Out 2012 by Celebrating Opening of Veterans Facility
Strong Finishes to Multiple High-End Projects Fill-Out Solid Portfolio of Completed Projects for Construction Leader

JS Clark completed work on the assisted care facility in November 2012, a 110,000-square-foot complex featuring 100 private bedrooms and an HVAC system consisting of geothermal-fed water source heat pumps with individual controls for each patient room.
"We could not think of a better way to mark a successful end to 2012 than to thank our nation's military men and women by completing a major project to serve their needs here at home," said company spokesman Gene Kemp.
The first residents are slated to arrive at the Veterans Home throughout January 2013. Close to 200 people will be employed at the facility.
The Veterans Home project is one of many high-end construction jobs completed by JS Clark in 2012, which consolidated operations to better service existing contracts throughout North Carolina. These projects included the environmentally friendly Newton-Conover Middle School, a $20.8 million, state-of-the-art LEED facility serving as the new home for up to 850 middle schoolers; a state-of-the-art teaching lab at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Wilmington campus featuring 85,000 square feet of laboratory and lecture classroom space with terraced seating, an extended learning classroom, and faculty office space housing several science-related departments; and a unique retrofitting project for Fayetteville Technical Community College which entailed converting an on-campus warehouse into over 70,000 square feet of educational and office space.
During the full year 2012, JS Clark completed construction with a total contract value in excess of $400 million for educational, retail, commercial, industrial, institutional, health sciences and technology and multi-family projects. In the first half of the year, the company focused on successfully completing a backlog of over 50 projects as it leveraging its financial strength, national buying power, outstanding safety performance, and forward-thinking management to help its clients get their projects completed in a timely manner.
During corporate restructuring in 2012, JS Clark was able to find jobs for the vast majority of staffers leaving the company, investing in internal HR resources and working with placement agencies to ensure longtime workers were taken care of.
In the first quarter of 2013, JS Clark is focused on finalizing details on a number of projects completed in Q4 2012 as it continues to be careful stewards of the public and private monies, working to finish on time and on budget within original contract specifications or in cases of expanded project scope.
As with all its projects, JS Clark is fully committed to meeting all warranty obligations, actively supporting every client during the warranty period of their project and helping each customer resolve any post-construction issues that may arise. The company's full warranty program addresses the key components of document retention; customer reporting of warranty claims; warranty work performance; and subcontractor warranty performance.
