CMAT Exam@ Another CMAT in May, no date change for TU Feb bandhs
Bringing relief to thousands of MBA aspirants seeking seats under the government quota, AICTE has decided to hold CMAT again in May

AICTE, however, does not agree that it will be a third window and emphasizes that it is just an extension of the February window. It is being done only accommodate candidates from Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and a few other states which have only recently come under the AICTE umbrella, the nodal body said. This will be an opportunity for those who were not able to apply for either CMAT-1 or CMAT-2.
It is in line with AICTE agenda of making sure that students do not face any sort of problems. In an earlier interview with MBAUniverse.com, AICTE chairman Dr S S Mantha had said, "Holding CMAT twice in year is a step in the right direction as it gives more opportunities to students. I would like every student who wants to gain MBA degree to take the test. The step has been taken keeping in mind that students are not put to difficulty."
More and more states are coming into the CMAT fold as AICTE made CMAT the only gateway to MBA admissions under the government quota from the coming academic year, instead of the State-administered Post graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET). Students of various states who were preparing for PGCET are now will have to appear for CMAT.
According to sources, the test in May will be held so that students who have applied late could be accommodated. AICTE believes that as admission in B schools continues till June, conducting examination in May will not be an issue.
