OAK BROOK, IL (prHWY.com) February 22, 2013 - Vinay Nayak is proud to announce the foundation of a mentoring program at Hinsdale Central High School. As a graduate of Hinsdale Central who never received anything less than an A-, Vinay Nayak understands the needs of the students and knows how to motivate them towards success.

After hearing about the death of Derrion Albert at Fenger High School, Vinay Nayak arranged for Hinsdale Students to mentor South Side Schools. Aside from academic mentorship, Vinay Nayak organized for Chicago students to come to Hinsdale for swimming lessons. These aspects of the mentorship program truly showcase Vinay Nayak's desire to not only help others, but also inspire his peers to make a difference in their own communities. By encouraging students to mentor other students, Vinay Nayak hopes that he is helping spread a message of unity and bettering the common good.

This isn't Vinay Nayak's first venture into activism. During his high school years, Vinay Nayak started the Hinsdale chapter of STAND, which is a student group dedicated to raising awareness and helping stop genocide. Vinay Nayak also volunteered for Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

"More young people need to get involved," says Vinay Nayak. "We are a part of this community, so our voice and helping hand matter just as much as anyone else's." Vinay Nayak hopes that his involvement and level of success will inspire his peers to get just as involved. While he loves promoting academic and athletic success, Vinay Nayak true passion lies in political and social activism. "Young people have the energy and creativity to push for positive change," says Vinay Nayak. "Hopefully we can harness that potential."

Vinay Nayak attributes his drive to his parents, Indian immigrants who came to the United States with nothing more than five dollars in their pockets. Though they had nothing, Vinay Nayak's parents were able to establish themselves professionally and ended up opening multiple surgery clinics. Just as his parents inspired his own drive for success, Vinay Nayak hopes that he can inspire others. "This mentoring program is all about inspiration," says Vinay Nayak. "Every act of kindness we take is multiplied in the grand scheme of things. One small spark begins a fire - I mean, something as simple as this program could change someone's life. You never know."
