London, United Kingdom (prHWY.com) February 25, 2013 - A new transport contract is set come into effect in the South Dunbartonshire region of Scotland, with a view to reinforcing the bus transportation system across the region.

The new contract, worth £340,000 overall, has been awarded to two major bus companies, which will ensure that rush-hour bus services in particular become more efficient, with the addition of new routes at critical times in the morning and evening.

The entity responsible for awarding these contracts, the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, has also stated that it is one of their objectives to provide vital public transportation links to communities not serviced by private operators, with the new contract being only one of dozens already in place for the same purpose, across west central Scotland.

Despite operating on increasingly reduced budgets, the SPT declare themselves proud of continuing to put the needs of people before financial gain, in a day and age where that mindset is becoming increasingly rare.
