Dusit Thani Maldives named Asia Pacific Hotel of the Year

The Budgie$ & Travel Awards, held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore earlier this month, have named Dusit Thani Maldives Asia Pacific's Hotel of the Year.

The Budgie$ & Travel Awards celebrate the leadership efforts, accomplishments and ingenuity of Asia's low cost aviation and travel industries. The awards are held in conjunction with Travel Distribution World Asia, the leading platform for Asian travel suppliers, travel intermediaries and industry partners to assess & access best practices in the travel sector.

Travel Distribution World Asia invites industry innovators, forward thinkers and revolutionaries to share their expertise and industry know-how through a series of talks and panel discussions. Tourist arrivals from the Middle East to the Maldives increased 49 percent year-on-year from 2011-2012, making the region a significant market for Dusit Thani Maldives. With a variety of airlines offering services from Dubai direct to Malé, the hotel anticipates greater demand in the coming months.
