Jo and David Demars wrote, "Dear Wayne; As Shaman nears 6 months, I thought I would take a moment to let you know how he`s doing and respond to your recent correspondence. He has been transformed from large puppy to one of the handsomest young dogs in the area. We have been surprised on two separate occasions when knowledgeable dog people have stopped to speak with us on the street and have asked "Where did you get your dog? I know he`s not from a breeder anywhere around here." He is that striking. Our vet has made similar comments. Temperament wise he has been even more of a joy. It`s a little scary when your dog is smarter than you are, even without the post-graduate degree. Shaman loves everyone, but at the same time displays a calm fearlessness when around people or animals larger or smaller. At dog obedience class the trainer commented that usually shepherds are timid during the first couple of weeks and have to be coaxed or bullied into participation. Not Shaman, since the day he walked off the airplane he has acted as if the world is his oyster. He has been a most loving companion to both Jo and me.
