Nelson, New Zealand- Tawaho Management Limited, a sustainable market development company, in collaboration with USA based New Composite Partners, has recently announced the availability of a new exciting product as an alternative to conventional polyethylene films for shipping and storage applications.

Ecofilm Industrial is a unique certified compostable film and a biodegradable cling coating designed to run on existing stretch film equipment by simply adjusting the tension
setting. Due to the strength and biodegradability of Ecofilm Industrial, customers can benefit from
material/waste reduction in the following ways. First, Ecofilm Industrial at 1.0 mil (25 micron) can
replace 1.6 mil (40 micron) palletizing film in most cases thus reducing the amount of product needed. Second, most applications requiring three wraps of standard film can use two wraps without sacrificing strength or protection. Third, Ecofilm Industrial is certified compostable therefore avoiding tariffs, fines, and tip fees in areas where polyethylene is prohibited or restricted.

Ecofilm Industrial is more than a stretch film alternative; it can also be used for masking applications, mechanical protection, and corrosion protection. Ecofilm Industrial uses controlled adhesion to stick firmly to smooth surfaces, and leaves no residue upon removal. Ecofilm Industrial, when disposed of properly, biodegrades entirely into carbon dioxide and water with no harmful effects to soil or plant life. The same microorganisms that breakdown yard waste, food, and other organics, ingest Ecofilm Industrial and release carbon dioxide and water. Under standard compost conditions, Ecofilm Industrial will completely biodegrade within 2-3 months; however, the exact time required for biodegradation depends on the condition and activity of the disposal environment.

FEATURES
100% Biodegradable and Compostable per ASTM D6400
Works on most existing automated machines
Ideally suited for agricultural export shipments
Extremely elastic
Certified Compost compostable by BPI per ASTM D 6400
Conforms to domestic and international compostability standards

APPLICATIONS
Ecofilm Industrial is available in 20" (50.8 cm) or 30" (76.2 cm) widths as 1.0 mil (25 microns) film
for standard automatic "stretch wrapping" equipment. By adjusting (typically increasing) the
tension on the equipment, Ecofilm Industrial is easily applied.

SHELF LIFE
For shipping and storage applications, Ecofilm Industrial is a great alternative to conventional
polyethylene films. Ecofilm Industrial has a shelf life of up to two years, when sealed in original
packaging. Once removed and put to use, Ecofilm Industrial will remain effective with regard to
mechanical strength until film is placed in contact with material containing microorganisms, such
as certain types of waste, soil, and compost. Under these conditions, 100% disintegration will
occur within a few weeks with no residual contamination of the soil, certified under ASTM D 6400.

Ecofilm Industrial is currently "Made in America" from a line of products offered by New Composite Partners.
