Turmeric, jeera recover on fresh buying.
Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital due to a pick-up in demand from local parties amid improvement in overseas enquiries. Restricted arrivals from producing belts also supported the upside in prices. Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 6,400-10,300 per quintal.
Chana futures up 0.75 pc on better spot demand
Chana prices rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3,358 per quintal in futures trade as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in the spot market. Restricted arrivals in the physical market also influenced the chana prices at futures trade. At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, chana for May contract rose Rs 25, or 0.75 per cent to Rs 3,358 per quintal with an open interest of 47,320 lots.
