IMPACT 2013 is all about WWW - Win Win Women
IMPACT 2013 with the theme WWW - Win Win Women was a grand success organized by IMC ladies wing on 9thMarch at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Colaba. Every year, IMPACT celebrates women and their huge contribution to the nation.

Justice Jagdish Sharan Verma delivered the key note address and described in detail the measures recommended by his commission for women's right to safety and security in India. He said, "Change in mindset is more important than enactment of a law against sexual offences. The role of the civil society is more important than the Government". He also said that when you educate a male child you educate an individual but when you educate a female child you educate a family.
The second session 'Winning Road Ahead' - Moderated by Shaina NC, this panel discussion on Safety of Women had guest speakers - Smriti Irani, Rajya Sabha Member and Satyapal-Singh, Mumbai Police Commissioner, discussed avenues of women's security and safety. Satyapal Singh said that the there is a need to educate children to change the mindset early on and the police cannot be blamed if the offences are committed by family members, relatives or boyfriend. Smriti Irani spoke about the challenges faced by women after they were raped and molested; in filing complaints and perusing the due process of law.
The third session 'Winning Backstage', moderated by Bharati Pradhan had notable speakers like Gauri Shinde (of English Vinglish fame) and Hemanti Sarkar, a successful film editor of acclaimed films like "English Vinglish" and "Parineeta". Gauri Shinde said that she will only make movies which are women oriented and where women will be winners.
A brilliant discussion on Winning Options for Women, featured Mumbai's well-known Mrunalini Deshmukh, Family Law Expert, and Psychotherapist Dr. Anjali Chhabria. IMPACT also honored the women achievers like Pinky Lilani, OBE, Sudha Motwani and Perveez Aggarwal.
The Chief Guest of the Conclave, Hon'ble Shri Ashwani Kumar, Union Minister for Law and Justice, supported the cause of women with an informative talk on the future challenges and the role of women in the coming years. He stated, "Law cannot be made or amended keeping just one case in mind. Laws have to be made in such a manner that it can endure in every case for decades. Laws must reflect contemporary realities of society and should help the country progress and not regress".
Ms. Darshana M Doshi, President, Ladies' Wing of IMC expressed that "IMPACT is a celebration for women all over the World to gather together and feel one with each other for many of their causes, safety being one of the most important issues to tackle. The bonding and networking would be of great assistant to women in boosting the self confidence of other women".
Ms. Rajyalakshmi Rao, Chairperson of IMPACT Committee stated that "This year's IMPACT has given lot of importance to safety of women, keeping in view the horrible crimes against women across the country".
The Indian Merchants' Chamber and the Ladies' Wing of the Chamber felicitated and celebrated the impressive work and achievements of wining women, who have lit-up 2012-2013 with their innovations, ideas and ambitions.
IMPACT also presented the divine music of Ankita Joshi, the outstanding disciple of Sangeet Martand Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj as well as a thrilling show of Sufi dances and songs.
